M7 Portlaoise - Castletown & M8 Portlaoise - Cullahill Road Scheme
Description of the Preferred Route Map
The Map of the Preferred Route for the M7 and M8 Road Scheme shows a new complete junction on the outskirts of Portlaoise to the South West.
The new road proceeds South West from here to a motorway interchange to the East of Aghaboe, where the road divides into the M7 heading West towards Borris in Ossory, and the M8 heading South to Cullahill.
Two possible junctions are marked where these roads cross the R434 road between Aghaboe and Ballacolla.
The M7 route ends at a junction located just to the South of Borris in Ossory, which is marked as a "Tie into N7 Castletown to Nenagh".
On the M8 Route there is an area marked as a "Junction Zone" where the road crosses the R433 between Rathdowney and Ballacolla.
The M8 route ends at a junction with the N8 to the South West of Cullahill. This junction is marked as a "Tie into the N8 Cullahill to Cashel".
